Richard Saenz is an American journalist currently workings as a sports anchor and reporter for Fox 10 News in Phoenix, Arizona since April 2003. Saenz reports for Fox 10 weekdays at 5, 9, and 10 pm and on Fox 10 SportsNight.
Born in MC Allen, Texas, Richard attended college in the Lone Star state. He later graduated from Incarnate World Univesity in San Antonio.
Richard started his broadcasting career at KWES-TV in Midland, Texas in November 1994. He worked his way up, starting from a general assignment reporter to a news reporter, and then to a weekend sports anchor.
In 1994, Saenz moved to El Paso where he took his anchoring role as the weekend sports at KDBC-TV. Later in April 2013, he was promoted to sports director and stayed in El Paso for over five years before moving to FOX 10 in April 2003.
In addition to his broadcasting career, Richard is actively involved in Arizona charity work, including the Mentorship program of the Walter Cronkite School at Arizona State University and The Champions for the Homeless with The Society Of Saint Vincent De Paul.
Saenz has won numerous Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards ranging from Best Sports Feature to Best Sports Reporter during his service.
