Rick Karle Biography
Rick Karle is an American journalist currently working as the co-host of the WVTM 13 Morning News show in Birmingham, AL. He joined the station’s team in December of 2019. His newscasts air on weekdays starting at 4 a.m. He co-anchors with Eunice Elliott, meteorologist Stephanie Walker, and Harmony Mendoza. Despite joining WVTM 13, Karle served as a TV sports anchor in Birmingham, Jacksonville, and Hanover, NH. He spent over 35 years of his life in Birmingham.
Rick was born and raised in Syracuse, New York City, and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in journalism from the University of New Hampshire. Being a cancer survivor, he has served as a board member for the American Cancer Society. Moreover, Rick has done volunteer work with the Big Oak Ranches, United Cerebral Palsy, and the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.

While there, he covered major stories such as the sixth Alabama National Championship, the Auburn National Championship, and the 2011 Central Alabama tornado outbreak.
