Roxanne Vargas Biography
Roxanne Vargas is an American Emmy Award-winning anchor currently working for NBC 6 since joining the News team in May 2006. However, Vargas has been part of the NBC 6 News channel since 2003. In 2018, she was voted “Best TV News Anchor” and “Best TV Host” in 2012 by the Miami New Times.
Roxanne has over a decade of experience in extensive on-air news coverage in her native South Florida including consumer, health, and entertainment feature reporting. She is also well known for extensively covering local and national breaking news.
Roxanne was born and raised in South Florida. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Florida International University. Vargas has a great passion for reporting and storytelling in the community she grew up in.

Vargas is currently working as NBC 6 News’ weekday morning anchor alongside Angie Lassman, Adam Berg, Sheli Muniz, and traffic reporter Kristin Sanchez. In addition, she contributes to NBC’s sister station, WSCV Telemundo 51, reporting in Spanish. Roxanne also hosts a similar show in Spanish, Acceso Total, on Telemundo 51.
Previously, Vargas was on the NBC 6 News at 5 AM, covering breaking and national news, entertainment, health, and consumer news. She is also a published writer, co-writing the book 100 Things To Do in Miami Before You Die (2014) alongside Maruchi Mendez.
Vargas is a two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist for her reporting and hosting on NBC. To mention just but a few, she has been recognized by Save and The Aqua Foundation for Women. Vargas is also a three-time Flamingo Award winner and was honored with the key to the City of Miami Beach when she served as Ally Grand Marshall during Miami Beach Gay Pride 2018 for her support as a friend of the LGBTQ community.
In 2014, Vargas joined an elite group of women around the world such as Demi Moore, Maria Shriver, and Brooke Shields. Through the connection, she was inducted into famed fashion designer Donna Karan’s Women Who Inspire Program. She was honored with a community leadership award by the Girls Scouts of Southeast Florida and served on their board.

Danny received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Animation from the Art Insitute of Fort Lauderdale in 2002. He then started working in the graphic design departments for NBC Universal and Telemundo until 2018. In addition to his television roles, he is an art director for Oceanic Ad Media Group and Penilican Pictures. He is also a designer for Monat Global and Rock 4 The Rack, a production artist for Hogarth Worldwide.
