Roxanne Vargas is an American Emmy Award-winning anchor currently working for NBC 6 since joining the News team in May 2006. However, Vargas has been part of the NBC 6 News channel since 2003. In 2018, she was voted “Best TV News Anchor” and “Best TV Host” in 2012 by the Miami New Times.

Roxanne has over a decade of experience in extensive on-air news coverage in her native South Florida including consumer, health, and entertainment feature reporting. She is also well known for extensively covering local and national breaking news.

Roxanne was born and raised in South Florida. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Florida International University. Vargas has a great passion for reporting and storytelling in the community she grew up in.

Vargas is currently working as NBC 6 News’ weekday morning anchor alongside Angie Lassman, Adam Berg, Sheli Muniz, and traffic reporter Kristin Sanchez. In addition, she contributes to NBC’s sister station, WSCV Telemundo 51, reporting in Spanish. Roxanne also hosts a similar show in Spanish, Acceso Total, on Telemundo 51.
