Russ McCaskey Biography
Russ McCaskey is an American journalist who currently works as a news anchor at WINK-TV. Prior to this, he worked as a co-anchor of CBS 11 News This Morning and CBS 11 News at 11. In addition, he is an Emmy-grant winning anchor and columnist who has been respected multiple times in gatherings including the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists. He is a proud graduate of Texas Christian University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Journalism.
Following his graduation, he worked for KJRH-TV from September 2000 to May 2015. While there, he was a primary news anchor for the evening newscast and was responsible for all phases of broadcast preparation and editorial direction. McCaskey was selected by corporate executives to participate in the Scripps Leadership challenge, a grassroots effort to change the corporate climate from the ground up.
He also served as a mentor for up-and-coming journalists. He was also a board member and past president of Associated Press Oklahoma Broadcasters. From May 2015 to May 2020, he worked as a journalist for CBS 11 KTVT-TV. While there he anchored two and a half-hour morning newscast and half-hour midday newscast. He was also an administrator on TV station media accounts and his own as well as to market and promote newscasts.
In addition, he was selected as host of the community affairs TV show “Plugged Into DFW” and worked to cultivate, highlight and build relationships with local non-profit and community groups. However, he left the station in My of 2020. Currently, he works as a news anchor at WINK-TV. He joined the station in October 2020.
