Sade Baderinwa is an American television journalist who works as a news anchor for WABC-TV in New York, the ABC flagship station. Baderinwa first joined the station’s staff in 2003. She currently co-anchors Eyewitness News’ weekday 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts with Bill Ritter.
Baderinwa began her work as a production assistant for ABC News’ This Week With David Brinkley, Nightline, World News Tonight, and News One, among other shows. Later, she worked as a reporter trainee at WUSA TV, a CBS affiliate in Washington, D.C., before moving on to WSLS-TV, an NBC affiliate in Roanoke, Virginia, reporter.
Moreover, Baderinwa also joined WBAL-TV, Baltimore’s NBC station, in February 2000. She hosted a weekly community affairs show in addition to anchoring the morning and noon newscasts.
Baderinwa also appeared as a guest co-host on The View on October 27, 2006. Moreover, in May 2011, Baderinwa took over as co-anchor of the 11 p.m. newscasts from Liz Cho, who was replaced by Bill Ritter. In addition, she has been a regular moderator at the United Nations International Women’s Day celebrations.
Baderinwa earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business and resource economics from the University of Maryland, College Park’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
