Sal Capaccio is an American broadcast journalist and sportscaster from New York City. He is nationally recognized for working as a sideline reporter for the Buffalo Bills under WGR550 News. Sal is also the main host of his own podcast series called Sports Talk Saturday with Sal. Prior to his current work with the Buffalos, Sal spent several years working as a correspondent who delivered college sports updates for Syracuse and also ventured into business during his college years. He was also a part-time play-by-play announcer and part-time TV host.
Capaccio was born and raised in the western neighborhood of New York City called Cheektowaga. He grew up as a very active kid who played soccer and football from a very young age. Sal even finished his high school and middle school education in his hometown. He then graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and communication from Syracuse University. Capaccio even advanced his studies at the University of Florida.
Sal launched his career as a sideline reporter officially by doing part-time play-by-play announcing for various teams and broadcasts based in New York City. He even appeared as a part-time fill-in reporter and host for a local station based in his school. Sal even gained more experience as an athlete because he also played high school and college football. He also worked as a teacher and track coach while he was in college. After graduation, Sal did a number of jobs as a sideline reporter for NFL and ESPN. He joined WGR550 News as a sideline reporter in the early 2010s. Therefore, Sal has been working with the Buffalo Bills Game for more than a decade.
