Sally Kidd is an American reporter and correspondent from Sunshine State and currently working for NBC 5 News as the station’s Washington Bureau reporter. Prior to joining NBC 5 News, Sally worked as a journalist for NBC sister station, WELSH-TV, where she spent almost 7 years.
Sally graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. In addition, she earned an MPS degree in Public Relations/Corporate Communication from Georgetown University.
Kidd started her career in 1997 as a news reporter at WELSH TV, an NBC affiliate. The station was owned by Hearst Television. In addition, she worked as a general assignment reporter for the station. She landed her first radio job, reporting telecommunication traffic from a plane in the skies above Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
In September 2004, Sally joined Hearst Television as a national reporter. During this time, Kidd went to the Washington News Agency from Orlando, Florida, where she reported for a long time as a reporter for WELSH TV’s sister station.
Sally has spent most of her career working in Fort Myers, Gainesville, Pensacola, and Panama City. Mostly, she has served the Sunshine State in roles including news reporting and anchoring positions.
