Sam Rubin Biography

Sam Rubin is an American journalist who is currently the Entertainment anchor for the KTLA Morning News and a correspondent for Reelz’s production Hollywood Dailies. Rubin hosts Live From the Academy Awards and the celebrity talk show Hollywood Uncensored with Sam Rubin. He has reported for the entertainment industry for over 20 years interviewing many Hollywood stars including Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson, Jeff Bridges, Halle Berry, Samuel L. Jackson, and Larry King.

Moreover, Sam has co-authored two biographies, one on the former first lady Jacqueline Onassis and another on actress Mia Farrow. He is also a regular Hollywood Entertainment reporter in the UK on ITV’s This Morning.

Sam is a recipient of a Golden Mike award for best entertainment reporter and an Associated Press Television and Radio award as part of the KTLA news team’s morning show. He graduated from Occidental College with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and Rhetoric in 1982.

The 2013 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards hosted by him became a No. 1 rated show in Lo Angeles and other major cities after it was viewed by more than 2 million homes. The show went on trending No.1 on Twitter that evening and gained more than 500 million impressions online.

When he is not reporting, Sam supports various non-profit organizations including recollecting a KTLA team for the annual MS 150 Bay to Bike Tour, a premier cycling event in Southern California raising funds to find a cure for multiple sclerosis. Moreover, Rubin is interested in revitalizing Los Angeles schools, including support for literacy programs and events such as the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.
