Sarah Bloom is an American Award-winning journalist currently working as a morning news anchor at NBC12 News Today. She also anchors Fox Richmond’s morning news and works on the RVAParenting blog where she talks to experts about important issues for local families in the community. Prior to joining NBC12 News, Sarah served as a news anchor and reporter at WSET in Lynchburg, VA.
Bloom was born in Iowa and graduated from Washington and Lee University in Lexington with degrees in Journalism and Sociology. Prior to joining NBC 12, she worked for stations in Danville and West Virginia.
Sarah started her journalism career as an intern at CNN newsroom in New York. Immediately after her graduation, she joined WOAY in West Virginia, working as a reporter and fill-in weekend anchor. After attaining experience, she then moved to WSET in Lynchburg, VA where she worked as a reporter and news anchor.
Furthermore, Sarah has worked with Andrew Freiden the meteorologist, and Ryan Nobles while in Virginia. Currently, she serves as a morning news anchor of NBC12 News Today and also a News anchor at Fox Richmond’s morning news.
When she is not working, Bloom enjoys running, swimming, exploring the outdoors, as well as spending time with her family at children-friendly activities.
