Sarah Harris Biography
Sarah Harris is an Australian television presenter and journalist. Harris is currently working as a co-host on Network 10’s The Project, Previously, she worked as a co-host on the morning talk show Studio 10.
Harris was born and raised in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She attended the Queensland University of Technology to study journalism and international business. Sarah began her journalism career in 1997 at the Seven Network in Brisbane, where she contributed to Today Tonight and Seven News. She joined Prime Gold Coast News in June 2001, where she worked as a freelance television reporter and presenter. Thereafter, she moved back to the Seven Network in Brisbane where she was a cadet news reporter and writer.
Prior to working at National Nine News in Brisbane, Sarah served as a reporter, researcher, and fill-in presenter on the Nine Network. At National Nine News she worked as a reporter. Harris also covered the live report of the Cairns Tilt Train derailment in 2004, and Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen’s funeral in Kingaroy in 2005. In 2007, Harris moved to Sydney to become a Today reporter and a fill-in news presenter.
Moreover, she also served as a fill-in news presenter on Nine Morning News, Nine Afternoon News, Nine News Sydney, and Weekend Today. Harris worked as the main fill-in presenter for Sonia Kruger on Mornings in 2012. However, she resigned from the network in 2013 to join Network Tens. There she served together with Ita Buttrose, Joe Hildebrand, and Jessica Rowe on the morning news program. In addition, Harris has also worked as a host on the Network Ten program The Project.
On top of this, Harris was announced as the host of Shark Tank in November 2014. Two years after, she appeared on the No Agenda round table as a Black Dame alongside Adam Curry and John C Dvorak. That same year, she received a Guinness World Record for Most Pumpkins Smashed in One Minute while dressed as Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. In 2022, Sarah announced that she was leaving Studio 10 after hosting the show for nine years. She was moving to become a new co-host of The Project in 2023 after the departure of the show’s longest-running co-host Carrie Bickmore in December 2022.
