Scott Swan Biography
Scott Swan is an American journalist who anchors the 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 11:00 pm newscasts for Channel 13News. He joined WTHR in 2002. Previously, Swan worked at KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City, WISH-TV in Indianapolis, KITV-TV in Honolulu, KESQ-TV in Palm Springs, KHJ-TV in Los Angeles, and Disneyland Broadcast Services.
Swan joined WTRH in 2002. In his service at the station, Scott was honored with a 2018 National Sigma Delta Chi award from the Society of Professional Journalists, and two National Headliner Awards. In addition, he has won state Emmy Awards for Best Anchor through his WTRH service and was honored by the Indiana Associated Press as “Best Reporter”.
Scott has toured the world and won several Emmy Awards for his Olympics coverage. Furthermore, he has landed many exclusives during his WTHR career. For instance, he was the only Indianapolis reporter to interview former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in his Las Vegas home. He conducted the first television interview with John Mellencamp before the musician launched his “No Better Than This” tour. Scott has also interviewed Henry Lee Summer, an Indiana rocker, who described his drug addiction.
During her free time, Swan emcees a wide variety of events, serves with the Lamplighter Ministry Inc. in Indianapolis, and gives his testimony for church groups. He is a proud graduate of Pepperdine University, graduating in 1985 with a broadcast journalism degree.
