Shepard Smith is a veteran American broadcast journalist working for NBC News and CNBC. Smith serves as a chief general news anchor and host for The News with Shepard Smith, a daily evening newscast launched in late 2020.
He is best known for his 23-years of service at Fox News channel having joined the station in 1996. During his tenure, Smith served as a chief anchor and managing editor of the station’s breaking news division. Furthermore, he hosted several programs such as; Fox Report, Studio B, and Shepard Smith Reporting.

Smith started his career in broadcast journalism with WJHG-TV in Panama City Beach, Florida. After several years of reporting jobs at WSVN in Miami, WBBH-TV in Fort Myers, and WKMG-TV in Orlando, Shepard became a correspondent for A Current Affair, a then American television News magazine program.

However, on July 8, 2020, the business and economics news network CNBC announced Smith’s arrival at the station as a chief general news anchor and chief general breaking news anchor. He serves as the host of his self-titled show, The News with Shep^rd Smith. This is a primetime general news program that broadcasts weekdays at 7.00 p.m. that was launched on September 30, 2020.
