Sherri Shepherd Biography
Sherri Shepherd is an American actress, comedian, author, broadcaster, and television personality. Currently, she hosts the daily syndicated daytime talk show, Sherri. Previously, Shepherd worked as a co-host of the daytime talk show The View, where she earned multiple Daytime Emmy Award nominations. She is also known for her role in the sitcoms The Jamie Foxx Show, Less than Perfect, Sherri, Trial & Error, and Mr. Iglesias.
Shepherd was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, United States. She completed her basic education at Winston Churchill Elementary School and Eisenhower Junior High School. After that, she attended Hoffman Estates High School before joining Trade school. There Sherri learned secretarial skills and then began working for various companies. Sherri started working in 1990 as a legal secretary in Beverly Hills when she began her stand-up career.
Later after, she resigned from her job as a secretary and made her television appearance in the series ‘Cleghorne!” playing the role of Victoria Carlson. She also appeared in different recurring roles in TV series like ‘Holding the Baby’, ‘Everybody Loves Raymond” and ‘The Jamie Foxx Show’. Shepherd become recognized after she appeared in the sitcom series ‘Less Than Perfect’, where she played the role of Ramona Platt. For her role in the series, Sherri was nominated for the BET Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Apart from that, she went on to do voice roles in the animated television series ‘Brandy & Mr. Whiskers and ‘Kim Possible’. In 2013, she played the recurring role of Angie in the satirical-sitcom television series ‘30 Rock’. In addition to that, Sherri also appeared as a guest host and contestant on several television shows such as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Rachael Ray, and To Tell the Truth. Moreover, she co-hosted the 35th Daytime Emmy Award. Shepherd become more famous after she become a regular guest co-host on ABC’s daytime talk show The View.
A few months later, she was promoted and become a permanent co-host of the show. In 2014, Sherri left the show however, she made several appearances on the show as a guest host. Besides that, she was also nominated for Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host for the show in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011.
Most recently, she took part in the second season of Fox’s The Masked Singer as the “Penguin”. Furthermore, Shepherd was also among the recurring guest hosts of the syndicated daytime talk show The Wendy Williams. On top of that, she also published her own book titled Permission Slips: Every Woman’s Guide to Giving Herself a Break. Also, she did a co-author credit on Plan D: How to Lose Weight and Beat Diabetes, published in 2013. Additionally, Shepherd has also been associated with some charitable organizations in which she helped to pay six months’ rent for homeless former American Gladiators star Debbie Clark.
