Stephen Lang Biography
Stephen Lang is an American actor who is famous for his roles in films including Manhunter, Gettysburg, Tombstone, Gods, and Generals, and Don’t Breath. Outside these roles, he has an extensive career on Broadway and even received a Tony Award nomination for his role in The Speed of Darkness. In addition, he won the Saturn Award for Best Supporting for his performance in Avatar (2009).
Born in New York, he attended elementary school in Jamaica Estates, Queens. For middle school, he attended George Ryan Junior High School, in New York. He then attended George School for his high school studies graduating in 1969. Lang then attended Swarthmore College where he graduated in 1973 with a degree in English literature.
In 2009, Lang appeared in Michael Mann’s film Public Enemies as FBI Agent Charles Winstead. In the same year, he narrated the audiobook Road Rage. The following year, he performed the narration for “The Gettysburg Story: Battlefield Auto Tour”. Recently, he appeared in Avatar: The Way of Water as Colonel Miles Quaritch.
