Steve Raible is an American Radio Personality and News anchor widely recognized for working as a radio commentator for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. Prior to his work with the Seahawks, Raible spent several years working for KIRO 7 News based in Seattle, Washington. He also played pro football from 1976 to 1981. Steve even spent around five years working as a sports commentator for KIRO Radio 7.3 Fm and KIRO Am ESPN Seattle and Kiro Radio 7.3 FM.
Raible was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky to a middle-class native American family. He grew up involved in various sports activities like football and soccer from a young age. He attended Trinity High School where he graduated in 1972. Steve then enrolled at Georgia Tech University and played college football all through his college education. He began playing as a tight end and wide receiver under coach Pepper Rodgers until his graduation.
Steve was then drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 1976 NFL Draft. He was able to play wide receiver for the team for six consecutive seasons before suffering a fatal injury on the field. Steve’s lungs collapsed in the second pre-season game in mid-August. He didn’t play again until 1980 during the game’s sixth game of the regular season.
Eventually, he dropped his football career in 1981 due to a drop on the depth chart caused by one pass. Raible was then able to launch his career on Radio in 1982 by appearing as a color analyst for Seahawks radio broadcasts on KIRO. He then appeared on KIRO ESPN Seattle until 1993. Raidble left Kiro and became a news anchor on KIRO TV from 1993 until 2020.
