Taylor Mathis is an American television personality and sportscaster who is famous for her time as a sports reporter for Sports Monckery’s Facebook Live program covering Chicago sports. Prior to this, she worked for College PrimeTime as a social media ambassador.
Most notably, she got her first introduction to the world of sports at the age of 5. Her grandfather took her to a local baseball game, where Taylor became hooked on the atmosphere and the game. Taylor was particularly fascinated by the sideline reporters. Her interests continued to grow & by the age of 7, she could already fill out a sports card.
Following her passion, she attended Sandwich Community High School where she grew up enjoying and performing in the theatre. She later went to the University of Lowa to study journalism and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and a minor in Sports Studies.
During her time at the university, she was always eager to learn and held an internship with Comcast Sports Chicago. She co-hosted her own radio show called Acoustic Artery, and a few educational videos to help younger students. After graduating, she moved to the cornfields of Nebraska. There she covered many different sports while working as a reporter for Nebraska ABC affiliate KHGI/NTV.
Taylor mainly covered college games and some other sports including high school rodeo. She moved back to Illinois and started to work for herself without the constraints associated with working for others after a year.
Currently, she has a podcast called “Brunch and Ball” which she hosts. On the podcast, Taylor discusses sports, life, and relationships with guests on the show. In addition, she has an eponymous YouTube channel where she shares beauty tips as well as career tips as an aspiring sports reporter.
