Sara Shookman is an American journalist working as a co-anchor at WKYC-TV. She joined the station in June 2015 where she served as a general assignment reporter and later became an anchor. She co-anchors the station’s evening newscast at 6 pm and 11 pm alongside Russ Mitchell.
Formerly, she worked as a multimedia journalist and was later promoted to a morning live reporter and fill-in anchor at WVLT, WBXX. Additionally, her career began in Athens, Ohio where she worked as a one-man-band reporter and multimedia journalist for WOUB Public Media. After working for this station, she was promoted to become a one-man-band reporter, anchor, and producer.
Additionally, Sara became one of Channel 3’s go-to storytellers and covered both local, national, and international news. Frequently, she is assigned to cover major stories and file reports for TEGNA which is a WKYC parent company. Among other assignments, her favorite is the Olympics.
Moreover, she covered the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, and the 2016 Summer games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
