Thalia Assuras Biography
Thalia Assuras is a seasoned American Television journalist and the sitting chair of a consulting practice focused on media operations, training, strategic planning, and executive coaching. She currently hosts CBS Evening News with Dan Rather.
Before landing herself a job at CBS, Thalia worked with CITY-TV as well as Global Television. She also worked for a while as a reporter and weekend anchor for CityPulse from 1985 to 1988. At Global Television, she served as the evening news anchor in the year 1989.
From 1992, she worked for CTV as the host for Canada AM. Later in May 1993, Assuras relocated to ABC, joining Aaron Brown as the co-host of World News Now and ABC World News This Morning. She further shared a news desk with Boyd Matson, Kevin Newman, and Mark Mullen before quitting ABC in January 1997.
In 1997, Thalia moved to CBS, first joining CBS Eye on People, a cable network that CBS introduced in March 1997. Later on, she worked as a national correspondent further raising to a news anchor of the CBS Morning News in 1998.
Her next move led her to co-anchoring The Saturday Early Show in 1999 and the CBS Evening News Saturday in the same year with Russ Mitchell. LAter after relocating to the United States, she anchored energyNOW, a half-hour weekly TV news magazine and opinion platform produced by the American Clean Skies Foundation. This program first aired on WJLA-TV and later spread to Bloomberg Television.
It is after working in energyNOW that she established her consulting practice which majorly focuses on strategic planning, media relations, crisis management, media training, and executive coaching.
