Tracey Amick Peer is an American journalist currently working for WXIA, 11 Alive News, as a reporter. Amick joined the 11Alive team in March of 2020, just in time to cover all things pandemic. She enjoys stories that give a voice to all sides and bring balance and perspective.
Amick grew up in a military family (USMC), moving around from South Carolina to Mississippi to Japan before growing up in New Orleans. She attended and graduated in 1995 from St. Mary’s Dominican High School. Later on, she joined Mississippi State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communication in 2000.
Tracey kicked off her broadcast career in Jonesboro, AR as the morning news anchor at KAIT Channel 8 from March 2002 to May 2004. She then joined WCSC-TV Live 5 News, serving as a reporter and anchor from January 2005 to January 2011. Before joining 11Alive, she served as a media relations at Charleston County Government from 2011 to 2012.
During her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, watching live music, or riding bikes with her family on the BeltLine.
