Wale Aliyu Biography
Wale Aliyu is an Emmy Award-winning American journalist who presently works as a weekday evening news reporter for WFXT Boston 25 News in New York. In August of 2021, Aliyu joined the Boston 25 News team.
He worked as a reporter for WNBC in New York City before coming to Boston. Wale was on the scene of two helicopter crashes, a fire at Trump Tower, various New Year’s Eve parties, and a spate of strange items that appeared throughout the city while he was there. Wale also provided comprehensive coverage of the trial of “El Chapo,” a Mexican drug lord.
Despite joining WNBC, Wale spent six years in Ohio, reporting for WKYC-TV in Cleveland, WKEF-TV, and WRGT-TV in Dayton. He assisted in the coverage of the horrific police-involved killing of 12-year-old Tamir Rice by his station. In addition, he covered the 2016 Republican National Convention.
