Yolonda Ross is an American actress, writer, and director who is famous for her roles in movies and series such as The Chi (2018), The Get Down (2016), and Whitney. She has achieved a lot throughout her career including winning an IFP Gotham Award for Best Breakthrough Performance. Yolanda is also a member of the prestigious Labyrinth Theater Company. Yolanda has also received the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female nomination.
After her successful career start, she landed a leading role in the independent drama film, Stranger Inside (2001). Ross later landed supporting roles in a number of independent productions and guest-starred on Law & Order.
She then went on to co-star on Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and in 2011 had a recurring role on HBO’s Treme. In addition, she co-starred alongside LisaGay Hamilton in the critically acclaimed 2013 independent drama film, Go for Sisters.
