Alex Maragos Biography
Alex Maragos is an American Journalist currently working as the general assignment reporter and morning show anchor for NBC 5 News in Chicago. In August 2015, Maragos joined NBC 5 News.
Since joining the station in August 2015, Maragos has been the new general assignment reporter and morning, show anchor. In addition, since August 2020, he has been working as a Weekend Evening Anchor and Reporter.
He also worked as the anchor for NBC 5 News in the morning and midday. The Emmy award for Best Morning Newscast was won by NBC 5 News Today in 2016. He spent two years working as a morning anchor and reporter at WLFI-TV in West Lafayette, Indiana, prior to joining NBC 5 News.
While there, Alex received awards for breaking news and feature reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Indiana Broadcasters Association. He had a position as an intern at WLS-AM 890 from June 2012 to August 2012. He also has valuable experience as an NBC Sports Chicago News Intern.
