Alice Gainer Biography
Alice Gainer is an American journalist and news anchor currently working for WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV in New York. Prior to joining CBS, Alice worked at WNYW Fox 5, New York. She also worked at News 12 New Jersey as an anchor and reporter for eight years. Notably, Gainer has also been featured on News 12 Westchester, CNN, Fox News Channel, and Fox Business Happy Hour.
Gainer graduated from Fordham University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications: Television and Radio and a minor in Business Administration. She anchored the university’s NPR-affiliated radio station, WFUV, winning a Gracie Award in the category “Individual Achievement for Best Anchor (Radio)”. At the same time, Alice anchored for the campus television station.
After her graduation, Gainer started working for NPR affiliate WBGO radio, MetroNetworks WOR, WABC, and Air America Satellite Radio.
Gainer started her career while still at the campus, working as an anchor for the WFUV radio station and also her campus television station. Immediately after her graduation, she began working for the WBGO radio station and later joined the WABC commercial talk radio station.

She was also a principal actor in a New York Mega Millions commercial where she played a news anchor. She further appeared in several MTV commercials.
Alice contested for the Miss New Jersey USA title and placed in the top 15 for several years. In addition, she held the title of Miss Somerset County in 2006, after contesting in the Miss America Organization.
