Alisyn Camerota Biography
Alisyn Camerota is an American journalist who is currently working as a co-host of CNN Newsroom from 2-4 pm with Victor Blackwell. Prior to this, she was an anchor of CNN’s morning show New Day and a presenter at Fox News. She has covered stories nationally and internationally. In addition, she has been nominated for an Emmy Award for news reporting.
Following her achievements, she covered the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in Huston, the Paris and Brussels terror attacks, and the Parkland school shooting. Alisyn also interviewed the Parkland student survivors and representatives of the National Rifle Association in the hours after the shooting.
She graduated from the School of Communication of the American University in Washington, D.C. with a degree in broadcast journalism. Her career began working at WHDH in Boston and later moved to WTTG in Washington D.C.
Most notably, she joined the FOX network in February 1998 as a correspondent for its Boston bureau. She reported on a number of different stores and contributed to the network’s affiliate service, Fox News Edge. In October 2007, she started a blog on the Fox & Friends page on Fox News Channel’s website called In The Greenroom.
Later in November of the same year, Fox & Friends began an Internet-only segment, “The After the Show”, which featured Fox & Friends anchors. However, on March 14, 2014, she marked the end of her 16-year run with the network in a farewell to her after audience.
On July 14, 2014, CNN and CNN International announced that she had joined the CNN news team to serve as a TV anchor with a time slot to be announced. As time went by, she co-anchored CNN’s New Day. On Monday, April 19, 2021, she began co-hosting CNN Newsroom.
