Andrew Perez is an American journalist currently serving as a weekend news anchor at WPLG Channel 10 News’s 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 11:00 pm newscasts. Perez joined Local 10 News in May 2014 after spending three years at the Fox affiliate in the Mobile, Alabama-Pensacola, Florida market, WALA-TV.
At WALA-TV, Andrew led WALA’s primetime newscasts as their general assignment/ investigative reporter and fill-in anchor. For his work, Perez won an ABBY Award for his series on missing mother Brittney Wood. In addition, he reported on the April 27 Tornados, the stranded Carnival Triumph’s return to Mobile, and the Midland City hostage situation.
Before joining WALA, Andrew worked behind the scenes in Miami and also served at WABC-TV in New York was he schooled. Andrew returned home after spending three unforgettable years at WALA-TV, the Fox affiliate in the Mobile, Alabama-Pensacola, Florida market.
Perez is a proud graduate of Manhattanville College where he received his Bachelor of Science in Communications with a double major in political science and film study in 2010. Andrew also spent a semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain, as part of his studies.
