Anne Thompson is an American journalist who is currently working as a Chief Environmental Affairs correspondent for NBC News. She mainly focuses on Environmental and Economic Issues. Besides all this, she has covered the Catholic Church and is the winner of the prestigious Gerald Loeb Award, and was honored with seven Emmy Awards.
Following her education, she attended the International School of Brussels in Belgium. Later on, she attended the University of Notre Dame where she graduated she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts in American Studies. While still studying, she was one of the Board of Trustees in 2010.
Anne began her career immediately after graduating. From 1979-to 1983, she worked for WNDU-TV in South Bend, Indiana. She later worked as a consumer reporter for NBC affiliate, KSDK-TV in Saint Louis, Missouri in 1983 for a period of 3 years.
Thompson then moved to NBC affiliate WDIV-TV in Detroit where she worked as a general assignment reporter for 11 years. She was honored with seven Emmy Awards for a collection of stories that join her incorporation of the Jessica DeBoer custody battle.
Anne became part of NBC News in 1997 where she joined as a National Correspondent. Later in April 2007, she was made the Chief Environment Correspondent. In her new position, she has covered numerous stories that hit national headlines.
