Asher Angel Biography
Asher Angel is an American actor who debuted in the 2008 film Jolene, starring Jessica Chastain, as a young actor. Angel is most known for his role as Jonah Beck in the Disney Channel original series Andi Mack, which aired in 2017. He is well known for his role as Ryan Wolf in the television series Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
At the age of 5, Dov appeared in the 2008 film, Jolene. Asher started his career by appearing in numerous theater productions. At age 7, Desert Stages Theatre held auditions for the musical Oliver! and, with his parent’s permission, he auditioned and won a role in the production.
Angel’s mother promised to take him to Los Angeles if he “put in the work and [did] 30 [local] shows”, and he went on to act in multiple plays including Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid, Seussical, and Into the Woods at the Desert Stages Theatre in Scottsdale.
Asher’s mother kept her promise, and Dov traveled to Los Angeles where, at age 12, he auditioned for and won the part of Jonah Beck in the Disney Channel television series Andi Mack. Dov’s whole family moved to Utah to accommodate filming for the series.

Angel has also appeared in the short films ‘How do you do that Voodoo?’ and ‘Hate from a Distance.’ In 2017, Asher stated that he wouldn’t let his music skills go untapped. Dov also said that he was simultaneously pursuing his singing and music career alongside acting. In June 2017, he gave a live performance at the Future Disruptors showcase.
Asher Angel was a guest on the shows Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn. He is extremely popular on TikTok, with over 4.8 million fans on his asher angel account.
Asher is also a singer. He has released a few songs; “Snow Globe Wonderland” (2017), “Getaway” (2018), “Chemistry” (2018), and “One Thought Away” featuring Wiz Khalifa (2019).
Angel intends to release an album and go on tour at some point. Dov’s song “One Thought Away” was written for Annie LeBlanc.
