Carol Leonnig is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who has worked as an investigative writer for The Washington Post since 2000. For her reporting on security lapses and wrongdoing inside the Secret Service, Leonning was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 2015. She was also part of a Post team that won the Pulitzer Prize in 2014 for exposing the US government’s secret, widespread surveillance of Americans thanks to Edward Snowden’s leaks.

Carol has also won the George Polk Award for investigative reporting three times. She covers Donald Trump’s presidency as well as Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Leonnig also appears on NBC News and MSNBC as a contributor.

In a series of investigations published in 2011, Leonnig and her Post colleague Joe Stephens showed how the Obama administration pressured Solyndra, a solar panel manufacturer whose top investors were related to a big Obama fundraiser, to secure a $ 535 million federal loan. Their accounts were the first to show how White House aides to senior White House advisers pressed management and budget officials to accept the Solyndra loan in time for a press conference they planned to reveal the funds to Vice President Biden.
