Charles Stanley Biography
Charles Stanley is the senior pastor of the First Baptist Church located in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States. He is the founder and current president of In Touch Ministries after his service as the president of the Southern Baptist Convention between the years 1984 and 1986.
He graduated from the University of Richmond, later obtaining a master’s degree in Divinity from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Later on, he went the extra mile, getting his Th.M. and Th.D. degrees in theology from Luther Rice Seminary, Florida, United States.
At 12, Charles became a born-again young Christian. Moreover, at the age of 14, he began his life mission in Christian ministry. He first joined the First Baptist Church of Atlanta in 1969, serving as its senior pastor in 1971.
A year later, Stanley launched a half-hour religious telecast program, The Chapel Hour. The Christian Telecast Network debuted this show in 1978. Moreover, in 1982, Stanley established yet another service, In Touch Ministries, and its radio broadcast became syndicate.
