Chris Flanagan Biography
Chris Flanagan is a journalist from the United States who presently works as a news anchor for WFXT in Boston, Massachusetts. At 4 p.m., he hosts the Boston 25 News and contributes to the 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts. In 2016, Flanagan became a member of the station’s staff.
Chris formerly worked for five years as a news anchor for WEWS-TV Channel 5 in Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Colorado State University before returning to New England and graduating from Southern Connecticut State University after too much skiing.
From 1992 to 2004, Chris worked as a weekend sports analyst before taking over as the main anchor at WOI-DT in Des Moines, Iowa, where he stayed for four years and was nominated for many Emmys. Flanagan left the station to work for WFAA in Dallas, where he now anchors the weekday morning show. He then departed Dallas to work for WEWS-TV.
In addition, Chris has reported from San Francisco, Indianapolis, Hartford, Vermont, and New York. He was on the air in 2009, reporting from Cleveland, to cover the tragic tragedy at Fort Hood. He covered the Iowa caucuses, the Winter Olympics, a Super Bowl, two World Series, and multiple NBA Finals while at Iowa.
Chris is a multi-talented working anchor whose responsibilities include authoring and producing a feature story, directing viewers thru breaking events, anchoring daily COVID-19 briefings, and reporting on local news in the area.
