Don Postles is an American journalist who works as an anchor for the top-rated WIVB News 4, a CBS station, where he anchors at 5, 6, and 11. In January 1993, Postles joined the WIVB New Team.
Don previously worked as an anchor at WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, New York. He also worked as a co-anchor at KFSN-TV in Fresno, California, and WKBW-TV in Buffalo, New York. Don also received first place in the New York State Broadcasters Association’s Investigative Reporting competition in July 1995.
He is also the recipient of multiple Associated Press and United Press International awards. After co-anchoring WIVB’s coverage of Continental Flight 3407’s accident, Don received the Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Journalism. Moreover, Postles has covered a number of fascinating incidents, including Pope John Paul II’s 1981 assassination and the recovery of Ann Odre, who was shot beside the Pope.
Among the Buffalo television anchors, Don enjoys a unique position. He is the only person who works as a primary anchor at all three of Buffalo’s television news stations. Since he was a child, Postles has been a reliable source of local news in his town since he arrived in Buffalo in 1976.
In 1973, Postles obtained his bachelor’s degree in communication from American University in Washington, D.C., and his master’s degree in journalism from the same university in 1974. WKBW-TV was where he began his career in Buffalo.
