Claudia Rupcich is an American journalist who is currently working as a morning reporter at ABC15 since joining the station in June 2019. Prior to this, she worked as a news reporter at WRAL, in North Carolina. While there, she was part of excessive continuous coverage of two deadly hurricanes, Hurricane Florence and Hurricane Michael.
Prior to WRAL, she worked as a morning reporter at WTVR, CBS 6 in Richmond, Virginia. Moreover, before this, she reported for the most-watched evening newscast on WRIC, ABC 8 News in Richmond. During her time in Virginia, she covered several national stories, including the deadly “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville in 2017, among other stories.
Most notably, she began her career in Lynchburg, Virginia as a weekend reporter and web managing editor at WSET, ABC 13 News. She is passionate about connecting with the community and sharing the stories that matter. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Claudia graduated with degrees in journalism and French from the University of North Carolina.
