Greg Dawson is an American journalist and producer who currently works as the Vice president of News of NBC7 San Diego and Telemundo 20. He joined the station as a producer in September of 1989. Dawson graduated in 1981 from California State University-Chico.
He enrolled in California State University-Hayward in 1981 and graduated with a degree in Communication and Media Studies. In addition, in 1985, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Southern California.
After his graduation, Dawson worked in various stations. He worked as a writer and producer at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, CA from September 1985 to February 1987. Dawson was also a producer at KOBI-TV in Medford, Ore from October 1987 to January 1989. Prior to NBC7, he worked as a producer at KOLD-TV in Tucson, Ariz from January 1989 to September 1989.
Currently, he works as the vice president of News of NBC7 San Diego and Telemundo 20. Over the years, Greg has covered hundreds of local stories as a field producer and produced nearly every newcast at the station. His assignment as a special projects producer has taken him across the country.
