Jackie Roberts is an American journalist from Hamburg, New York working as a news reporter for Channel 2 News, WGRZ-TV in Buffalo, New York since March 2019.
A Hamburg, NY native, Jackie is a proud graduate of St. Bonaventure University’s Russell J. Jandoli School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She also attended Hamburg High School between 2008 – 2012.
Jackie is a multi-skilled journalist at Channel 2 News in Buffalo, New York. She joined WGRZ from WJET in Erie, Pennsylvania. At WJET, she served as the station’s county government and courthouse reporter.
At the same time, she made a name for herself after following the priest abuse scandal in the Catholic Diocese of Erie, from the beginning of the investigation into local priests to the release of the Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report.
For more than a year, Roberts followed the case of Christoper Leclair, a man convicted of murdering his wife, who was found in Lake Erie near Dunkirk, New York after being shot in the head and tied to an anchor.
Her coverage was further featured across several news outlets nationwide. Despite her interest in hard news, Jackie also likes when she lets her viewers in. One of her most memorable stories involved traveling to Twinsburg, Ohio to cover the Twins Days Festival, with a special guest – her identical twin sister Jenna.

After high school, Jackie started work at Meridia Credit Union as a Teller/Marketing Group Associate. She then moved to New York to work as the New York treasurer for New York DECA.
In May 2012, Roberts joined Metro Roberts Realty as the Metro Home Show Coordinator. After working for 11 months, she went to Hamburg, NY, working as a Media Escort for Erie County Fair. Soon after, Jackie interned at YNN Buffalo at The Warner cable and also at the Society of St. Vincent DePaul in Buffalo, New York as a Communications Research Intern.
Starting December 2012, Jackie served WSBU-FM The Buzz as the station’s Assistant News Director, News Director, and Station Manager. Later on, she worked at St. Bonaventure University, Campus Activities Board for three years.
Before joining WGRZ-Tv in March 2019, Roberts also worked for WJET-Tv as a news reporter, Times Werner Cable News as a News Assistant, American Advertising Federation, Kwerkworks as a project manager, and SBU-Tv as a reporter, producer, and anchor.
