Jamie Kagol Biography
Jamie Kagol is an American Meteorologist and a reporter for 12 News, serving as a weekend meteorologist and reporter. Kagol joined the station in November 2019 and forecasts across all shows and platforms. Additionally, he has contributed to our AtoZ60 franchise, spotlighting the people, places, and things that make Arizona special.
Kagol brings two decades of forecasting experience to the station weather team, having covered severe winter and summer weather, in multiple climates and also wall-to-wall coverage of tropical storms, hurricanes, and tornadoes.
Before Jamie joined 12 News, he previously worked at WEYI/WSMH NBC 25/Fox66 in Flint, MI, where he was Chief Meteorologist. Moreover, he also served as a morning meteorologist at WFTX Fox 4 in Cape Coral, Florida. Earlier in his meteorologist career, he served as chief meteorologist at KIFI, Local News 8, the ABC affiliate, in Idaho, and also as a morning and noon chief meteorologist at KEYV/TV 12, the CBS/Fox duopoly in North Mankato.
Kagol is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College with a Bachelor’s degree in geography. Later on, he earned his master’s degree in meteorology from Saint Louis University with an emphasis on severe local storms and Doppler radar. Additionally, he holds the American Meteorological Society’s AMS Seal of Approval.
