Jeff Wagner Biography
Jeff Wagner is an American journalist who is currently working as a WCCO‘s Saturday evening news anchor. Wagner joined WCCO-TV in November 2016 as a general assignment reporter.
Born and raised in the Chicago area, Jeff spent most of his childhood in Naperville, Illinois. He attended Illinois State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism in 2009. Wagner landed his first job at WCIA-TV in Champaign, Illinois where he started as a bureau reporter in Decatur then worked his way up to the weekend anchor.
After spending four years in Central Illinois, Jeff moved to Indiana to join WISH-TV in Indianapolis in 2013. During his service there, Wagner won Emmy awards for his part in breaking news coverage of tornado damage, as well as his work as a video journalist. However, Jeff’s favorite assignments always centered around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, specifically the Indy 500.
An avid sports fan, Jeff is excited to attend games at venues across the Twin Cities. He can basically be cheering for the visiting Chicago teams or probably at a live music venue.
