Kelli Giddish Biography
Kelli Giddish is an American television, stage, and film actress who is best known for Chase (2010), All My Children (1970), and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999). Since 2001, she has been playing NYPD Detective Amanda Rollins in the NBC crime-drama television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Kelli is familiar to most NBC viewers as she has been in most of its series. Between 2005-2007, she played Di Henry on the ABC soap opera All My Children, played Dr. Kate McGinn in the Fox crime drama series Past Life (2010), and Annie Nolan Frost in the NBC crime drama series Chase (2010-2011).
Giddish had her interest in acting develop at an early age when her paternal grandfather started taking her to the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Her maternal grandmother was also very supportive of her interests. Growing with such interest, Kelli later joined the University of Evansville in Indiana where she majored in theatre performance.
While in college, Kelli was an Irene Ryan Acting Award finalist and was selected to perform at the Kennedy Center. She later relocated to New York after her graduation to start her career in “Shoes” and since then, her love for New York has never died as she divides her time between New York and Los Angeles.
Prior to landing her starring role on SVU as Detective Amanda Rollins, Kelli first appeared as a rape victim, Kara Bawson on the show in season 8 Episode 12, “Outsider”. She then joined the cast of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit for its 13th season, the same time Christopher Meloni was leaving the series.
All through, Giddish has played her role as Detective Amanda Rollins to the best. However, after the departure of Meloni, the cast members had to regroup. On April 16, 2020, her character was promoted to 2nd-grade class detective, in “Solving For The Unknowns”.
