Ken Rosato Biography
Ken Rosato is an American journalist as well as a reporter, currently serving on the WABC-TV morning newscasts alongside Shirleen Allicot as an anchor. Rosato replaced Steve Bartelstein on March 13, 2007, since he had dropped from WABC-TV. He had been working as a reporter for the station since December 2003.
Ken graduated from Regis High School in New York City. He later joined New York University, where he attained a bachelor’s degree in film, TV, and radio. Additionally, Rosato received a master’s degree in both Spanish and Italian.
Despite Rosata working at WABC-TV, he worked at WNYW-TV as an anchor as well as a reporter from 2002 to 2003. From 1998 to 2002, he worked in Florida as an anchor at WFOR-TV. He also worked as a panelist for WLIW 21 Edition on WLIW21.
Additionally, he worked as an anchor for 50,000 watts of 1010 WINS Radio in New York City and was news director and main anchor at 50,000 watts of WBLI-FM/Long Island and WLNY/New York.
Luckily, on July 6, 2007, it was announced that Ken would be joining Lori Stokes and Bill Evans on Eyewitness News This Morning and Eyewitness News at Noon. He began to regularly fill in at the anchor’s desk on June 4, 2007. WABC-TV managers announced that he would replace Bartelstein.
Furthermore, he competed against other reporters such as Michelle Charlesworth, Phil Lipof, and Lisa Colagrossi. Fortunately, the station announced that Ken provided the most journalistic credibility. Later on, he officially assumed the role of the morning and noon anchor on July 9, 2007, though he had filled in from July 5.
On July 19, 2007, he luckily won an Emmy Award for his reporting a steam pipe explosion in New York. Furthermore, on April 29, 2010, it was announced that Ken would return to Eyewitness News This Morning that day after being on leave for 3 weeks.
