Michael Estime is an American Broadcast Meteorologist at WBJK, Fox 2 Detroit as a meteorologist. Additionally, he holds a membership with the National Weather Association. Prior to joining his current station, Estime worked at WKYC in Cleveland, Ohio where he served as a weekend meteorologist and weekend co-host of the show “Live on Lakeside” for 4 years.
He attended and graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology with a minor in Mathematics. Estime began his professional career in Macon Georgia where he first served as the morning meteorologist for WMGT. He served as a morning meteorologist before his promotion to chief meteorologist.
While at WMGT, Estime experienced a bit of everything ranging from blistering hot summers and hurricanes. He also worked at MHTV News Central 34 where he obtained the “Best Weathercaster” award for 3 consecutive years from 2006 to 2008.
He joined WKYC as the weekend meteorologist and co-host. Prior to that, he worked for WTVG in Lexington, Kentucky where he served as the morning, midday, and noon meteorologist. He later left the station and headed to Detroit, Michigan. Currently, he serves as a meteorologist for WJBK, Fox 2 Detroit.
