Mike Witcher Biography
Mike Witcher is an American Meteorologist who is currently working as a Morning Meteorologist at WBIR-TV for 10News Today and Noon. In addition, he joined the station in March of 2005.
Following his education, he enrolled in college after graduating from high school as a journalist. He attended the University of Northern Colorado, which is located in Greeley, Colorado, from 197 to 1998. While there, he majored in Journalism and minored in political science, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Minor in Political Science in 2000. Later in 2001, he enrolled at Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi where he received a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology in 2004.
His dream however was to become a reporter but things changed when he started his first work as a photojournalist at KJCT-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado. Following this, he was later given an opportunity to work in the weather department. Following his tenure in Grand Junction, he found himself packing his belongings and headed to Colorado Springs to work for KOAA-TV.
At KOAA-TV, he worked as a weekend meteorologist while also shooting and editing news during the week. He finally secured a full-time weather job at WBRI-TV after two and a half years at KOAA-TV. Later on, a position at WeatherNationTV in Denver came up and he needed to take advantage of the opportunity to be at home with his family while also trying his hand on a national stage.
It was an incredible experience, and being able to spend time with family was even better. However, he came back and stepped back into his ‘old shoes’ but was thrilled to be back ‘home’.
