Paolo Banchero is an Italian American collegiate basketball player for the Duke Blue Devils of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). He was a consensus five-star recruit and one of the top players in the 2021 class, and he was anticipated to be a lottery pick in 2022. He was selected as the ACC Rookie of the Year in 2022.
Paolo participated in basketball, American football, and track during his childhood. He grew up playing basketball at the Rotary Boys & Girls Club of Seattle, where he was inspired by his mother, who was a professional basketball player. Banchero went to Seattle’s O’Dea High School.
