Quint Kessenich Biography
Quint Elroy Kessenich is an American sportscaster who has been covering lacrosse, football, basketball, hockey, wrestling, and horse racing for ABC and ESPN since 1993. He is a former All-American goalkeeper in lacrosse. From 1987 to 1990, Kessenich attended Johns Hopkins University where he was a two-time winner of the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Award as the nation’s finest goalie. Quint was a member of the famous Mount Washington Lacrosse Club and played one year of professional lacrosse with the Baltimore Thunder in 1999.
In the legendary horse racing town of Saratoga Springs, he made his writing debut for brothers Joe and Sean Clancy at The Saratoga Special, a horse racing newspaper. He also contributes to the lacrosse journal Inside Lacrosse on a monthly basis. On NBC Sports Washington and ESPN3, Quint is a color commentator for Chesapeake Bayhawks games with Joe Beninati or Scott Garceau.

Quint made global headlines on November 29, 2013, when he interviewed an enraged Bo Pelini at halftime of the Iowa-Nebraska football game, which was televised on ABC, and the Nebraska coach responded to the reporter’s question over a pair of Cornhusker turnovers with “What are your thoughts? I’m not sure what kind of inquiry it is.” The incident occurred one week after Mark Dantonio, the head coach of the Michigan State Spartans, yelled at Kessenich during a halftime interview.
