Ralph Wood is an American journalist who is currently working as a sports director and nightly sports anchor at KPTM FOX42 News in Omaha, Nebraska, the United States of America. He has been the longest-running television sportscaster in the history of the Fresno television market.
Born in Los Angeles, he attended and graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. After graduating, he began his television career at the NBC affiliate in Reno. There, he served as a weekend sports anchor, general assignment news reporter, and news anchor.
Prior to joining his current station, he worked as a weekend sports anchor and reporter for KJEO TV, the CBS affiliate in Fresno. Administ his journey with KJEO TV, he was offered a role in the CBS mini-series, “Fresno”, starring Carol Burnett, Dabney Coleman, Teri Garr, and Charles Grodin.
Talking about his achievements, he has covered Fresno State football at the Las Vegas Bowl, the Freedom Bowl, and Kickoff Classic in Anaheim. Furthermore, he has been there for the Fresno State basketball team’s trip to the NIT in New York.
