Rashi Vats is an American journalist who has been working as a news anchor and reporter for Fox 26 KRIV in Houston since August 2013. Before joining this station, Vats served as the weekend anchor and reporter for KBTX, the CBS affiliate in Bryan/College Station.
She attended Texas Christian University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism from the Schieffer School of Journalism. At the university, she began as a biology and chemistry major to become a doctor. However, Rashi’s dream job has always been acting, and she won a state theatre competition in high school.
Rashi interned at the CBS London Bureau in the spring of 2007 soon after graduating. There, Rashi was chosen as an International Radio and Television Society Summer Fellow. As a result, she relocated to New York City. There she interned for CBS Evening News. Additionally, she also served as the weekend anchor and reporter for KBTX, the CBS affiliate in Bryan/College Station.
Furthermore, she was a reporter for KRIS and KZTV in Corpus Christi and KXII in Sherman, Texas. She reported for KXII in Sherman, TX. This was before moving to the Brazos Valley. Currently, she works as a news anchor and reporter at KRIV Fox 26 in Houston. She joined the station in August 2013.
