Robin Meade Biography
Robin Meade is a seasoned American television news anchor who is currently the lead news anchor for HLN’s morning show; Morning Express with Robin Meade. The former Miss Ohio started her broadcasting career with local stations in Ohio State. Meade joined HLN in 2001 and since then she has won a regional Emmy Award.
Meade started her broadcasting career as a reporter at WMED-TV in Mansfield, Ohio. She then shifted to work as an anchor and reporter at WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio, and at WJW-TV in Cleveland. After landing a job at WSVN-TV, Robin relocated to Miami, Florida to serve as the morning news anchor of WSVN-TV’s Today in Florida.
A rising star, Robin joined WMAQ-TV, an NBC Chicago affiliate where she anchored the morning newscasts. In addition, Meade co-anchored the weekend newscasts as well as worked as a general assignment correspondent for the station. During her service at the NBC affiliate, Robin covered the 1996 Olympics, including the special reporting on the Centennial Olympic Park bombing.
Robin then joined HLN anchoring the network’s coverage of Operations Enduring Freedom as well as that from Operations Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Currently, she is based in CNN’s world headquarters in Atlanta where she hosts Morning Express with Robin Meade on HLN on weekday mornings alongside Bob Van Dillen, Jennifer Westhoven, Melissa Knowles, and Mike Galanos.
On June 21, 2011, Meade released a country music album dubbed Brand New Day, on the Somerset Entertainment label 2011. She further had her single, “Dirty Laundry” released to country radio.
