Sean Lewis Biography
Sean Lewis is an American journalist currently working as a WGN Weekend Am anchor and reporter. He anchors WGN Saturday Morning News and WGN Sunday Morning News with the expansion of weekend news since joining the station in September 2016.
Before the weekend anchor role, Lewis filed reports for WGN News at Five and WGN News Nine during the week. He joined CLTV in March 2007 and later WGN-Tv in June 2008. A Kenosha native, Lewis graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Lewis came back home to Chicago after been away for more than two years as a weekend anchor at WWBT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Richmond, Virginia. He grew up watching Chicago news. However, he has lived and worked throughout the Midwest, reporting in Fargo, North Dakota, Madison Wisconsin, and Rockford, Illinois.
In Rockford, Lewis worked on the board of AIDS Care Network and was named Best Newswriter by the Illinois Associated Press. In 2009, the Associated Press recognized him for his special report on the student journalists who were the first on the scene of the NIU shootings.
