Steven Furtick is a renowned American pastor, songwriter, and New York Times best-selling author. This was in the credit for his books; Greater and Sun Stand Still in 2010. He has aided Charlotte’s Elevation Church to reach a regular attendance of 12,000 people during his leadership.
As a founder and lead pastor, he transformed Elevation Church into a global ministry through online streaming, television, and the music of Elevation Worship.
Born and raised in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Steven attended Berkeley High School. However, at the age of 16, Furtick felt a calling to the priesthood after reading the book Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala.
He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in communication from North Greenville University. In addition, he holds a Master of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
After working as a music director at Christ Covenant Church in Shelby, North Carolina, Steven relocated to Charlotte where he started Elevation Church. This church had its first service on February 5, 2006.
