Tyler attended Kent State University graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Business. While at the university, he was a member of TV2 KSU and the KSU Catholic Student Association. Carey also served as a Multimedia News reporter and a co-anchor at TV2 KSU for 3 years and 9 months since September 2013.
Carey was also a sports anchor/ reporter and the co-host of TV2 KSU interviewing coaches and players on Kent State’s team, filming highlights, and speaking about a variety of sports. In addition, he was a sports director in Kent Ohio from May 2016 to December 2016 as well as May 2015 to December 2015.
Carey also served as a producer at SportsCorner, a weekly half-hour sports show at TV2 KSU in Kent, Ohio from January 2016 to December 2016.
